KeeganSLW on It’s hard to believe a week has passed since iPadPaloozaOU. I’ve already written about this conference, but wanted to quickly shoutout a couple people that took my experience to the next level: Vanessa Perez and Terri Cullen, you made my conference experience phenomenal. Vanessa Vanessa displayed tremendous passion and was inspiration to me this year. First, she […]
KeeganSLW on As another iPadPaloozaOU comes to a close, I’m struck by how lucky I am to have access to this excellent local conference. Bravo to Anne Beck for being a force of nature when it comes to organization and the effort required to bring together students (pre-service teachers), K-12 instructors, professors, educational technology folks, administrators (and […]
KeeganSLW on This is a collection of resources I gathered while researching student made Twine games. This content is for my record and I may add more over time. Hoping this leads to more connections. 🙂 Games (& Twine Stories) Student Made Twine Projects Collections University of Toronto Mississauga — English Class of Twine Games (2017) from Siobhan O’Flynn […]
KeeganSLW on One conversation Jim Groom and I had last month in Australia was about development in the Domain of One’s Own (DoOO) space and how to best facilitate growth. This post is not the answer, but our discussion continues to spur thoughts that I want to document. In boils down to this: I want a Server […]
KeeganSLW on At the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE), I host a myriad of trainings depending on the focus and instructional needs across campus. When approaching professional development—in addition to content—I consider factors such as time commitments and formats to best serve the needs of as many individuals as possible. This post contains such information for the […]
KeeganSLW on What a wild weekend it’s been. Getting to spend time in Melbourne with Tim Klapdor, Jim Groom, Rowan Peter, Joyce Seitzinger, & Mark Smithers has been a blast. In fact, it’s been quite invigorating getting to know more about these phenomenal educators. Because, frankly this year has been rather emotionally taxing. The results of the […]
KeeganSLW on Recently, I was given several questions as part of a whitepaper prompt covering gamification and game-based learning to submit to the InSync Blended Learning Hub (thanks Phylise!). I’ll be treating these questions informally and only plan to give off-the-cuff responses (no additional research happening here this time!). Alright, here goes nothing: Q1) How do you define […]
KeeganSLW on Teaching is my favorite part of my job—hands down. Yet, working in faculty development, there are significant logistical considerations that must be addressed every time I want to experience the joy of teaching. Over the last few years I’ve streamlined my approach to the logistics that precede my teaching engagements on campus. This is an […]
KeeganSLW on Life has accelerated astronomically since my first #domains17 post, so I haven’t finished the other writing I was working on since I’m now headed to Australia for a short-term job. Fun fact, my domain actually helped me secure that job. 🙂 Anyways, here’s the rundown of my #domains17 presentation (PS thank Jim Groom for the […]
KeeganSLW on I’ll be heading to Australia to help RMIT University with their Canvas LMS transition. Since I just finished supporting the University of Oklahoma’s year-long transition from D2L to Canvas, I’m looking forward to taking what I’ve learned over the last year and using it to help RMIT use Canvas to its full potential. My goal […]
